•Title: Highway Cats

•Review: Highway Cats is an interesting book, and, overall, a good suspenseful story. One of its effective techniques is defining its characters. One example is the cat Khalia wearing containers and boxes on her head, to hide her scars. It also establishes the environment effectively. I quote, "Next to 'charlotte's web house,' a home computer store, was 'The 3-minute egg roll,' a Chinese fast-food restaurant."
The author could have done better on establishing the identity of the kittens, due to the fact that, even late in the book, they seemed too strange and mysterious. Highway Cats was fun to read, because cats interest me, and the author, Janet Taylor Lisle, kept things flowing, yet suspenseful, through the story.
